Join Ummi Lebanese Dining for a three-day culinary event to aid Lebanon.

February 19, 20 & 25, 2025

Tatler and Ummi Lebanese Dining

This February, join us for a special culinary event in partnership with Ummi Lebanese Dining to support people displaced by the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. Lebanese executive chef Ali Assaf will present the vibrant flavours of his homeland through a thoughtfully curated three-course menu.

All proceeds will be donated to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to support displaced people in Lebanon.

ABOUT THE CHEF

Ali Assaf, 28, was born in the historic city of Baalbek, Lebanon. Raised in a lively household surrounded by Lebanese cuisine, Assaf credits his grandmother and mother as early influences for his love of food and cooking.

Choosing to develop his skills and gain practical experience, he interned at Ramada Lebanon and built a strong culinary foundation. Following this tenure, he crossed paths with his mentor, the celebrated culinary giant Greg Malouf, who played a pivotal role in shaping his approach to Middle Eastern cuisine. His journey led him to Dubai, where he took the helm at Bushra by Buddha-Bar in Grosvenor House, and showcased the vibrant flavours of Levantine cuisine.

In pursuit of greater achievements, Assaf relocated to Singapore to serve as the executive chef of Ummi Lebanese Dining, and leads the team in creating nostalgic Lebanese dishes that celebrate his homeland’s rich culinary heritage.
