About Sandeep Kumar

With 16 years of experience under his belt, Sandeep Kumar is a bar expert who has left his mark on the mixology scene in Hong Kong and abroad. Currently the co-owner and head mixologist of The Wise King, he previously worked at Shangri-la Group Hong Kong, Michelin-starred restaurants such as On Dining and Il Milione, and has also led the beverage programs for institutes such as China Tang and Howard’s Gourmet.

About The Wise King

Tucked away in a discreet alleyway, The Wise King is all about powerful drinks that command slow sipping with a side of good conversation. The venue takes inspiration from the habits of 13th-century royal, King Alfonso X of Castile, who decreed that all alcoholic beverages should be served with food—and thus launched a culture of drinking with tapas. The drinks are uniquely layered, with mixes such as the herbaceous Joya, blending Jodphur gin with Pomace herbal brandy liqueur, Mancino Rosso and orange bitters.
